John Bjorlie was born and raised in Minnesota and moved to Gloucester when he married his wife, Cynthia, who is from the Cape Ann area. He is an attorney and clerk of GEF, a position that gives him much satisfaction in being able to assist this organization with legal and bureaucratic advice. Having attended a huge public high school in Saint Paul, Minnesota, he is finding the opportunity to assist in enriching a similar experience in the Gloucester Public Schools to be both rewarding and challenging.

John served on the GEF board from 2017-2023, and now serves as our Clerk on a voluntary basis.

Favorite GEF funded project. I have enjoyed following the aquaponics project at the O'Maley Innovation Middle School. I found the project to be incredible and educational, and it provided a real opportunity for study of the growing process.
