Artistic Bridges

Whether through block-printing, collage-making, ceramics or photography, Gloucester students get the opportunity to make art while learning about history, social studies, math and science through GEF’s Artistic Bridges program this school year.

Artistic Bridges links local professional artists to Gloucester Public Schools by bringing the artists into the classroom to work in residence with students and teachers. Now in its second year, the program is a collaborative effort with Cape Ann Museum that brigs hands on art-making into the existing school curriculum while revealing to students the rich cultural community in which they live.

This year’s program will serve every school in the district and feature a rich roster of projects and local artists, including collage art with Hans Pundt; block printing with Mary Rhinelander; ceramics with Susan Hershey and many others.
